Experiments with HTML5

With the recent dismissal of Flash, all eyes have been moving to HTML5. Because some people are not sure how it can be used, it is great that there are people experimenting with the code. One of these HTML5 "scientists" is Hakim El Hattab and his experiments might just have you wasting time. You can also play around with the code and learn a thing or two yourself.

The Killers even released an HTML5 site recently. Check out their site to be surprised.

Designed from scratch

Do you know how you eat a processed, pre-packaged cookie and it feels like it is missing something? Well, what is missing is the love that comes in from homemade goodness. I feel that One Fast Buffalo brings love into their design. OFB is in the southwestern US and their work is clean, concise, authentic and fresh. Of course, words say nothing compared to actual work. Go to their site and look around. You can change their background as well, so customize it to your liking—I really like this option. The interface is really fun and unique as well, so it's exciting to explore. If you hit the jump you'll see some of their works that I really enjoyed.

A more interesting way to watch stocks

PUMA has a very interesting way of persuading you to keep your eye on stocks. Although delayed by 15 minutes, this "PUMA Index" will have either a man or woman (all depends on your preference) waiting for stocks to drop. If they do, they will have to remove layers. They will keep going until they are down to their PUMA bodywear. OooOoo la la! DOW, DAX and ASE are available, so choose your stocks and get watching!

Unofficially amazing website

TheFWA has unofficially called this site the Site of the Day (SOTD). You won't find Wonderwall on their site, but you will find it here. They have very interesting interiors for your viewing pleasure. It has a very creative interface design. You should enjoy it.

Droid Does have an interesting website

Ah, I love teaser sites. They leave so much to the imagination. The same is true of the new contender in the smart phone battle: The Verizon Droid. It's got all the bells and whistles, but we won't know if it's all that for another week. Still, it does have a very interesting site and logo. Did you check out that little robot-looking thing in the "R". Pretty creative.

Orisinal

Ferry Halim's impressive flash games aren't new, but I thought I would share these with people that aren't familiar with his work. Ferry Halim's work is amazing, well-executed and highly entertaining. Even people who "don't like games" may find something they like. Take a look at Orisinal.com for more.

What I saw on the subway today was...

I think that sketching is an art unto itself. Being able to sketch a person or action quickly and with detail is difficult to achieve. Therefore I must point your attention to António Jorge Gonçalves' website ++Subway Life++ where he sketches images of people from the subway. Not only are the sketches interesting, but the site is very creative. It's been around for a while, so check it out—there might be a book available if you are looking for a more tangible means of viewing these.

Let's be spezific

I have to love Hunch. I find out such interesting information there. I am behind the loop, but I just discovered an awesome search engine. Even though you might know about it already, I'm still going to tell you. Spezify is a unique search engine in the sense that you get a visual representation of your search. This is my first time seeing this and I'm impressed. Try it yourself.

T2 makes motion delicious

Hello Monday created a very interactive website for motion design company T2. Not only does a constant reel of T2's work play, but your entire visit to the site is recorded and played back to you through very engaging visuals. The interface is rather nice and it loads quickly and clearly. Go ahead and take your cursor on a journey.
